Mission Green: Your visions for the smart (re)use of resources in tourism

THE COMMUNITY VOTING IS NOW LIVE UNTIL AUGUST 25!

It’s that simple: Instructions

Have you ever thought about how many tons of food have to be thrown away in tourist regions? How many mountains of laundry have to be washed or sorted out every day?

Do you also think this needs to be changed? Do you have any cool ideas on how to stop this waste of resources with the help of digital technologies? Or how discarded raw materials could be used for other purposes?

Let’s break new ground together in responsible tourism!

Ideas could be submitted in the following categories:

🍏Food as a resource:
What could (digital) solutions look like for using surplus food elsewhere or avoiding it? What innovative approaches are there to develop new products from unused food or make them usable in other sectors?

👟Textiles as a resource:
How can the upcycling of discarded textiles be promoted? How can textile waste be prevented?

👩🏼‍🏫(Awareness) education: What initiatives could bring the population, companies and their employees or tourists closer to the responsible use of resources?

🚗💧Other resources: What smart ideas can you think of for other resources in tourism such as energy, water or topics such as mobility or waste management? For example, ideas for visitor flow management at tourist hotspots, smart use of electricity in hotels, intelligent lighting in tourism businesses, smart waste disposal in restaurants, etc.
